Hail Storm Roof Replacement in Lakewood Village, Tx

In May, we were called to address significant hail damage on a roof in Lakewood Village. Our Shepherd Roofing & Renovations team took on the challenge of restoring the home’s exterior to its original grandeur. Here’s a breakdown of what we accomplished:

Roof Replacement

The hail damage had compromised the roof’s integrity, so we began by removing the existing roof system and moving it down to the sheathing. We inspected the plywood underneath and replaced any damaged sections to ensure a solid foundation for the new roof.

We then installed a synthetic underlayment across the entire roof field, followed by an Ice & Water Shield over all the valleys to provide an extra layer of protection against future leaks. New drip edges were installed over all eaves and rakes, ensuring a secure and seamless finish.

Our team carefully inspected all existing flashing and replaced it as needed. We also replaced all vents, pipe jacks, and gas caps to ensure they were in top condition. To complete the roof, we sealed all exposed nails and painted all roof items to match the new shingles, providing a cohesive and polished appearance.

Additional Work Completed

Alongside the roof replacement, we addressed other areas of the home that required attention due to the storm’s impact:

  • Garage Doors: We stained and finished two garage doors, restoring their look and protecting them from further weather damage.
  • Windows: Five window screens were removed and replaced, improving the home’s energy efficiency and appearance.
  • Fence: The property’s fence was pressure cleaned and restained, giving it a refreshed look and extending its lifespan.
